I've been helping a friend learn how to manipulate aether with the intent of employing some low-level curative spells. He has been an attentive student and all seemed to be going well, but recently something strange happened: when treating an injury, his patient was indeed healed, however the injury was transferred to him.

Have you ever seen or heard of something like that before?

No. It's not theoretically impossible, but it would probably have to be deliberate. There's few scenarios where that level of work is even worthwhile, and I can't think of a basic spell going so awry.
