Former. I thought I was some kind of instability in the ambient aether, but none of my other spells have an issue. Granted, none of my other spells ever last as long as she does, but ... you know.
Maybe it is some kind of instability. Her and your friend.
Ever the optimist, I see. Did you have something in mind?
Oh, but keep Eos' comment to yourself, at least from Alphinaud and Alisaie. I don't think it's anything to worry about. [ And she KNOWS they're going to worry. ]
The diffusion zones act as almost reflections of scenes or environments from different stars, do they not? There are many recognizable features, though they often feel "off" in one way or another. Like something got missed in translation.
We don't know why this occurs, of course, but are also here by some unknown means. I wonder if something similar has happened to us.
[ Oh no. Putting his inherent instinct to just agree with whatever Aria asks of him against being more open with the twins and treating them as equals at the table. ]
Don't you?
[ A pause. ]
I will always keep your confidence, Aria. It is your story to tell, not mine. Though I do think they might handle it better than we would give them credit for.
[ "We" because he doesn't want to single her out in this. ]
[ Hmm. She can get behind that actually; it's not a particularly pleasant consideration, but very little of what they deal with tends to be pleasant. What's another to add to the list? Cosmic randomness and things being off-kilter is pretty tame the longer she thinks about it.
Ardbert's here, after all. As are Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus. A little instability in one's aether is the least strange thing that's happened here — which is sort of why she doesn't want to bring it up to the others. ]
Oh, no. I'm not worried about them. [ They're hardier than they look. Always have been. But not worrying them feels like the least she can do for them ( there's so little she can do for them right now ). ] Have you told them about your friend?
[ She's not? G'raha wonders how honest that is, but...he's also not going to question it or push her, unless it really seems to be in her best interest. If it were about anyone else other than Aria, he would take a stronger stance. Aria has her reasons. Mayhap ones he gives too much leeway out of adoration.
Well-intended, but blinding at times all the same. ]
I have not yet, no. I was going to ask their counsel as well, given both of their proclivities towards healing. [ Alphinaud being a healer by trade and Alisaie's extensive background with her healing Porxie...although the timeline therein may be a bit off. Hm. ] At the very least, I don't believe he will try healing again anytime soon. Not until we have more information.
[ She's not, surprisingly. At least — she's not worried about the twins any more than she is about Estinien or G'raha or Ardbert. Comes with the territory of who she is and the job stone in her pocket and the path they've chosen, willingly or otherwise. But all of that's less of an active worry and more just a — constant in the back of her mind. The sky is blue and the grass is green and she's always a little worried about all of them at any given time.
It's just easier to say she's not worried. ]
Probably wise, unless he feels like having some weird stories for scars.
I think he has plenty without the need for scarring, thankfully.
[ "We"?
We. He likes we for a multitude of reasons, but for Eliot's sake, it means that his condition is going to be tackled from multiple fronts and not just G'raha's suspicions.
And, well, he does like working with them all. Independent though they act as needed, when they come together, he thinks they do their best work. ]
That sounds good to me. I will look forward to it, both the dinner and the discussion.

[ He's not going to argue—Aria is the expert and the only Scholar he knows! Still...Eos did seem upset. ]
I see...and I take it this has been common since your arrival here? Or is this a recent development?

I may ask the twins as well.
I won't say this brings comfort, but it does open a few new avenues to explore.
